Abstract: In a context of global warming and high demand for air conditioning in tropical areas, surface geothermal energy offers a sustainable solution for thermal comfort. This study explores the applicability of air-to-ground heat exchangers (or Canadian wells) for passive cooling of homes in Benin. It is based on a literature review, an analysis of local climate data, and modeling of the thermal behavior of a system adapted to the Beninese context.
