Abstract:
The agricultural sector constitutes the base of the economy of the Ivory Coast. Agriculture contributes to approximately 22% of the GDP and constitutes the income source of 2/3 of the households. It gets approximately 75% of the non oil export earnings. Agriculture is the fuel of the economy of the Ivory Coast. But the rural depopulation is likely to cause a fall of the agricultural production. The Government of the Ivory Coast, to put an end to this problem, multiplied development efforts agricultural by focusing on the programs of professional insertion of the young farmers. Some young people adopted the work of farmer while others gave up the program. This article shows the reasons for which the young people abandoned the program.
